雇用一群古怪的專家：《惡意花園》擁有一群獨特的專家，隨時準備破壞你的對手並幫助你的花園蓬勃發展：Wormsworth、Beebeard、Curmudgeon等等。運用這些專家來獲得花園升級與勝利卡。但請小心，你的競爭對手也能雇用他們自己的專家。
收成以獲得勝利卡：透過收成你的植物來獲得特殊能力，進而取得勝利卡。添加如食肉植物與Gnudist Gnomes等勝利卡，是你邁向勝利最可靠的方式。一旦有位園藝師在花園中累積了三張勝利卡，「季末」（也就是遊戲結束）就開始了！
