Twenty-plus years later and these photographs still feel like a quiet room you want to step into—Nabokov's eye for shadows and lived-in clutter is just as sharp on this paper stock as I imagine the original was. If you're into interiors as portraits, this one's worth the shelf space.
The reissue finally brings these moody, intimate shots of New York interiors back into print, and the paper quality does them justice. It's the first in her trilogy, so I'm already planning to grab the next two to complete the set.
