Category:

I grabbed this expecting another dry theory book, but Koren’s prose is so conversational it reads like a smart friend debunking design myths over coffee. The chapters are short enough to digest one per commute, and each one left me questioning a habit I didn’t even know I had.
Koren's arguments actually made me rethink how I judge buildings and objects—the essay on form versus function alone was worth the price. It's a slim book, but dense enough that I've been reading it slowly, a few pages at a time.
The essay-style structure is perfect for slow, deliberate reading—each argument builds on the last without feeling repetitive. I’ve been underlining passages about how we overvalue form in design, and it’s already changing how I look at everyday objects around my apartment.
