I’ve read Munari in Italian before and struggled to explain his ideas to colleagues—having this translation means I can finally hand them the exact pages on visual grammar and design education. The historical notes and layout of the book itself make it feel like a piece of design teaching in hand.
The translation finally brings Munari’s 1968 insights to English readers, and the way it bridges design education with everyday visual thinking feels just as fresh today. I’ve already dog-eared half the pages for my studio work.
