The two trapped rings on the stem spin independently and make the whole thing feel alive in my hand, it's oddly calming to just roll it between my fingers at my desk. The single-piece applewood carving is genuinely beautiful too, you can see the grain running right through.
The applewood has a warm, slightly sweet smell that I didn't expect from a spinning top. It spins smoothly on my desk for well over a minute, though the stem is a touch slick if your hands are dry.
