Concebido em 1976 por Bruno Munari e Giovanni Belgrano, o jogo contém 52 cartas que formam oito sequências de imagens para serem ordenadas logicamente: as sequências são compostas por 3 a 10 cartas, numa ordem crescente de dificuldade.

Um passarinho a sair de uma gaiola, uma casa em construção, uma planta que cresce, ganha folhas e floresce: cada carta, correspondente a uma passagem sucessiva, contém diferentes informações que servem de pistas a interpretar, desde a cor da maçã que amadurece até à posição do sol no céu.

Cada imagem conduz à reconstrução da sequência e do seu significado, treinando a capacidade da criança para formar relações lógicas. A partir da ideia fundamental do jogo — a procura da carta certa para dar continuidade à série — podem inventar-se muitas formas de utilizar as cartas, até em grupo.
