The Heng Balance Lamp is a minimalist light fixture that adds a magical ambiance to any space. When you lift the lower ball attached to a cord, it attracts to the top one (thanks to the embedded magnets inside) creating a connection that switches on the lamp’s LED light. Separating the balls shuts off the light. The attractive curved design creates the illusion of light passing through the structure.

Designed by Li Zanwen. Winner of the Red Dot Design Award in 2016. Measures 14" x 7" x 3" with a USB plug included.

I keep this on my nightstand and turning it on has basically become a little ritual. Lifting the bottom ball until it snaps up to meet the top one never gets old, and the warm glow is soft enough to fall asleep to.

The magnetic pull between the two balls is genuinely satisfying, and the light it gives off is warm and soft. Took me a day to get the cord length right so it hangs evenly, but that's a small thing. It's a nice little conversation piece on my nightstand.
