Hand Boiler

One of the most popular items in our Play Capsule, the glass hand boiler feels like something from an alchemist’s laboratory. The liquid in the glass sculpture has a very low specific heat which means that the warmth of your hand is enough to make it boil. Cup the lower bulb in your palm and the liquid seems to defy gravity, rising up and around the twisting glass tubes into the upper bulb and then erupting into a rolling boil. A very surprising and captivating science toy that almost feels like magic.
