A playful twist on a traditional style of top that was first introduced almost 1,500 years ago. The Arrow Spinning Top is a literal bullseye. Today, there is only one artisan left in Japan who is skilled enough to transform yards of ribbon into colorful, twirling teetotums. The fabric is wrapped around a bamboo stem by hand which makes each Kyoto Spinning Top unique. An ancient craft tradition revived for modern times.

Bought this as a desk toy and it's genuinely hard to put down. The hand-turned wooden body has a nice weight to it, and watching it settle into a perfect bullseye spin is weirdly calming. Knowing there's basically one artisan left making these makes it feel special.
