キネティックアーティスト、J.C.フォンタニーヴが2004年に制作し、NYCのスタジオで手作りされています。各マシンはステンレススチールから手作業で作られ、アーカイバルインクジェットプリントが施された無酸紙が個別に埋め込まれています。

My kid has been cranking this thing for an hour and the creatures really do flicker like they're alive. The handmade paper details are way nicer than I expected for the price.
The hand crank is what sold me, no batteries or cords to deal with. Watching the butterfly actually flit across the pages when you turn the handle is oddly mesmerizing, and it's become my go-to desk distraction.
I gave this to my niece and she sat there cranking the handle for twenty minutes straight, just watching the butterfly flutter across the pages. It's a genuinely clever little thing, the way the paper sculpture moves with each turn instead of needing batteries or a screen.
