The robot arm dragging the steel ball through the sand is mesmerizing, and guests always ask how it works. I've had it three months and still find new patterns every morning.
I catch myself just watching the steel ball glide through the sand instead of actually working. The magnetic pull is so smooth that the patterns come out cleaner than I expected, and the sand never needs raking.
The ball leaves these perfect spirals in the sand, and I keep catching guests just staring at it instead of talking. Setup was a bit fiddly, but once the magnet is dialed in it runs quietly for hours without needing anything from me.
