The hand-painted finish on mine is genuinely lovely, little variations in the color that you only notice up close. The elongated spindle shape really does keep it going, I got a solid minute and a half on a smooth table.

Bought this for my desk and I keep picking it up way more than I expected. The elongated spindle really does spin noticeably longer than the stubby tops I've had before, and the hand-painted finish looks even better in person.
