One specific configuration will allow you to separate the four pieces. But remember, the universe tends toward a state of chaos, hence Galaxy is much easier to take apart than it is to put back together. Before disassembling the puzzle, pay careful attention to the ways the circular arms fit in the cylindrical sleeves to create a flexible assembly.
