The rectangular frame looks simple until you actually try to free the sphere, and that first hour of twisting taught me not to trust the obvious. When the marble finally drops out the little click is ridiculously satisfying. My brother gave up in ten minutes, which honestly made it sweeter.
I left it on my desk for a week thinking I'd cracked it, then realized the marble has to spin a certain way inside the rectangular frame before it'll slide free. That click when it finally drops out is worth every frustrating minute.
I kept picking this up between meetings and losing track of time. The rectangular frame is small enough for a pocket but the marble really does spin freely, so it never feels cheap or stuck. Took me two evenings to figure out the release, and that last twist was worth every minute.
