I’ve been underlining half the pages since it arrived, the way it connects body heat to urban design is unlike any architecture book I’ve read. The section on thermal stress feels urgent, not academic, and I keep coming back to its ideas about collective sensation.
The way it frames thermal stress through design rather than just climate data is exactly what I needed for my thesis research. The paperback feels light enough to toss in a bag, and the chapter on sensation alone is worth the price.
I’m only a few chapters in, but the way it weaves climate data with architectural theory already has me rethinking how I design for heat. The section on collective thermal stress feels especially urgent right now.
