Ideato nel 1976 da Bruno Munari e Giovanni Belgrano, il gioco contiene 52 carte che formano otto sequenze di immagini da ordinare logicamente: le sequenze sono composte da 3 a 10 carte, in ordine crescente di difficoltà.

Un uccellino che esce da una gabbia, una casa in costruzione, una pianta che mette foglie e fiorisce: ogni carta, corrispondente a un passaggio della sequenza, contiene diverse informazioni che fungono da indizi da interpretare, dal colore della mela che matura alla posizione del sole nel cielo.

Ogni immagine porta alla ricostruzione della sequenza e del suo significato, allenando la capacità del bambino di formare legami logici. Partendo dall'idea fondamentale del gioco – la ricerca della carta giusta per proseguire la serie – si possono inventare molti modi di usare le carte, anche in gruppo.
