Fidget Puzzle Box, No. 6

I’ve had it sitting on my desk for a week and visitors keep picking it up, which is half the fun—the walnut finish looks sharp enough that nobody guesses it’s a puzzle. Once I finally got the trick it felt so obvious I laughed out loud, but that first day of fidgeting was genuinely addictive.

Took me a solid two evenings of fiddling before my stubborn brain found the trick, but now I can open it in seconds every time. The walnut feels smooth and warm in the hand, and it’s satisfying to watch coworkers fail at it on my desk. Only wish the mechanism had a bit more “click” when it releases,
